UMI’s 4060-1 GM A-body bump steer kit (1971-1972) is designed to reduce or eliminate toe change during suspension travel (bump steer). This improves handling, straight line stability, and overall precision of the steering system. The kit includes a heavy-duty 5/8″ bolt for the outer tie rod stud to increase strength over the factory tapered design. The adjuster is made of 6061-T6 Aluminum hex for lightweight strength and features a hard anodized protective finish. Shims of 0.125”, 0.1875” and 0.250” are included in the kit. These bump steer kits have been race-tested and are proudly designed and manufactured in Philipsburg, PA, USA. Note: Spindle drilling is required to accept the 5/8″ adjustment bolt. Once drilled, the spindle cannot be returned to the factory taper. For the 1971-1972 GM A Body, the kit uses the factory inner tie rod. If replacement is required, use Proforged 104-10016 or an equivalent, (2) are required. Bump steer adjustment tools and theory can be found at longacreracing.com.
