Growing up around cars, Tim always had a passion for anything automobile. After graduating from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 2015, he started looking into autocross events to keep his driving skills sharp. After competing in only a couple of events in the 2016 season in a Lancer Ralliart, the hobby of racing was becoming a passion.
In 2017, the AWD Lancer was traded in for a 2010 Camaro SS, and the struggle of relearning a new car and making proper modifications took place. Tim and his Camaro took on the challenge of competing in their first National Event in 2018, surprisingly keeping up with a heavily modified CAM-C class in a stock Camaro.
Fast forward a few years and Tim has taken his Camaro to several National SCCA events, local events near Pittsburgh, and numerous out of state events to compete with some of the best drivers and cars. In order to keep up with these drivers, Tim has upgraded the suspension with BMR’s adjustable sway bars, springs, and strut tower bars, Detroit Speed Engineering endlinks, 19x11 Forgestar F14 wheels wrapped in a 305/30/19 tire, Corbeau FX1 Pro racing seats and harnesses, and other weight saving modifications, as well as a ZL1 big brake kit to help slow the heavy Camaro during track events. Currently the Camaro is being fitted with Texas Speed headers and supporting modifications to put more power down, a custom Mighty Mouse track spec catch can, and coilovers provided by OSS.
All of this work has been made possible with the use of his family’s auto body shop, Gordon Automotive Specialties, in Washington PA. Look for Tim and his orange livery wrapped, M.S. Awareness Camaro to show up at many autocross and track events near you!
